This year marks the 400th anniversary of the Kan’ei Gyoko (Imperial Visit to Nijo-jo Castle in 1626), on which occasion the Tokugawa Shogunate welcomed Emperor Go-Mizunoo. On December 6, a special commemorative event will be held, reenacting the imperial procession. (Click here for details)
Please note that admission hours on the day will differ from regular hours as detailed below. We kindly ask for your attention when planning a visit.
・Last Admission (Castle Grounds): 12:00 p.m. (Normally 4:00 p.m.)
Note: The castle will close at 5:00 p.m. as usual.
・Last Admission to Ninomaru-goten Palace: 12:10 p.m. (Normally 4:10 p.m.)
・Last Entry to Nijo-jo Castle Parking Lot: 12:00 p.m. (Normally 4:00 p.m.)
Notes:
1. All vehicles must exit by 6:00 p.m. as usual.
2. Entry for overnight parking (available for coaches only) is permitted between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. as usual.
