Purchasing tickets

• Tickets can be purchased at the Nijo-jo Castle Ticket Office on the day of your visit or online in advance.
• If you purchase a web ticket in advance, you will be able to enter the castle smoothly on the day of the tour. (However, group rate tickets are only available at the Nijo-jo Castle Ticket Office.)
• Reservations are not required to view the Ninomaru-goten Palace.
• Please note that the Ninomaru-goten Palace is closed on certain days for viewing, so please be careful when purchasing tickets online.

• No castle admission ticket and Ninomaru-goten Palace ticket are required. On the day of the tour, please present a document proving that you are eligible for exemption (such as a disability certificate) at the entrances to the Higashi Ote-mon Gate and Ninomaru-goten Palace.

*People who are eligible for exemption and Kyoto City Citizen Annual Passport holders do not need to purchase this ticket.

For this reason, please note that there is a limit to the number of web tickets that can be purchased. Additionally, there are no group rates.

• No changes or cancellations are allowed after reservation.
• Please do not forget to bring your proof of eligibility (e.g., disability certificate) to the Honmaru-goten Palace. If we are unable to confirm that you are eligible for an exemption on the day of your visit, you may be denied admission.

• Please arrive at the Honmaru-goten Palace in time for your appointment. (If you are late, you may not be allowed to view.)
  *It takes about 15 to 20 minutes from the Higashi Ote-mon Gate entrance to the Honmaru-goten Palace.
